Jason Ye is the Director for U.S. Policy and Outreach at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), where he leads the organization’s work on U.S. climate policy, technology innovation, and climate-aligned trade. His expertise sits at the intersection of policy, markets, and technologies. He works with policymakers, companies, and NGOs to develop pragmatic and durable solutions that accelerate emissions reductions and clean energy deployment.
Mr. Ye has advised congressional offices on climate and energy legislation, guided C2ES’s efforts on major rulemakings, and developed policy analysis that has informed both domestic and international climate discussions. He has presented on U.S. climate policy to policymakers and business audiences in the United States and abroad.
Before joining C2ES, Mr. Ye led a practicum project for the World Wildlife Fund’s China for SHIFT campaign, which focused on developing business- and market-based sustainability initiatives to help reduce China’s carbon footprint and preserve biodiversity in key areas.
Mr. Ye has a M.A. in international relations and international economics, with a concentration in energy, resources, and the environment, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in political science and history from the University of California, San Diego.
