UNEP FI 2011 Global Roundtable

This year's Global Roundtable will focus on preparing the financial sector for the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20). This high-level conference will cast a spotlight on the global sustainable development agenda from the perspective of the financial sector players. Financial sector leaders and policy-makers will engage in talks designed to inspire dialogue between CEOs from banking, investment and insurance industries and high-level policy-makers, bridging the gap between them and bringing the most pressing issues of the financial sector to the forefront. This conference will feature speakers such as Gordon Brown, Nassim Taleb, Yvo de Boer, Achim Steiner, and many more.

The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a strategic public-private partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the global financial sector. UNEP FI works with over 200 financial institutions (such as Axa, Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Credit-Suisse, FirstRand, Mitsubishi, JP Morgan Chase, Standard Chartered Bank, UBS) that are Signatories to the UNEP FI Statements, and a range of partner organizations, to develop and promote linkages between the environment, sustainability and financial performance.
