Charging Ahead: The Economic Opportunity of America’s Battery Belt
Battery demand is expected to nearly quadruple by 2030, driving significant investment in the U.S.-based battery supply chain. The Southeast is emerging as a major hub for this growth, with the potential to generate $140 billion in economic output and support 374,000 jobs by 2035, provided strong state and federal policies are in place. Convened by the C2ES Regional Clean Economies Initiative, this discussion will explore how smart policy and a robust domestic battery industry can strengthen U.S. competitiveness and security while delivering economic benefits to local communities.
American Made, Deployed Everywhere: How big is the market for industrial decarbonization technologies?
Industrial decarbonization presents a major opportunity to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and compete globally while reducing emissions. In this event, C2ES will launch the new Industrial Decarbonization Markets program to accelerate these efforts and release new research identifying technologies where the United States can lead in manufacturing, deployment, and exports. Experts will convene to discuss how the economic and emissions benefits of these technologies can help build support for durable industrial decarbonization policies.
Resilience and Adaptation in the Private Sector
As extreme heat intensifies climate risks for businesses and communities alike, building resilience requires stronger coordination across the private, public, and community sectors. This event will feature leaders from the private sector in conversation on how companies, utilities, local governments, and community partners can work together to address shared vulnerabilities, highlighting lessons from California and practical strategies for planning, financing, and implementing resilience solutions that deliver benefits for both communities and the economy.
2026 Scale-Up Summit
Commercializing climate technologies requires both world-class innovation and effective strategies to close the financing gap between successful pilots and full-scale deployment. This summit will bring together leading climate technology startups with investors, corporate buyers, and other key sources of capital to explore how strategic milestones, partnerships, and blended capital approaches can accelerate commercialization, strengthen U.S. competitiveness, and scale climate solutions.
Multilateralism in a Shifting Context: Accelerating Methane Emissions Reduction for a More Resilient, Net-Zero 2050
Amid a period of transition in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process and the broader UN system, this high-level event will explore how multilateralism can be leveraged to support actionable solutions for achieving our collective global climate goals. With methane emissions reduction recognized as one of the most expedient and most effective opportunities to slow near-term warming, the discussion will highlight how international cooperation can accelerate emissions reduction from methane to keep a net-zero 2050 future within reach.
