Supercharging the US Battery Industry: A Policy Roadmap to Accelerate Growth

Batteries will be an increasingly important component of our rapidly expanding energy systems. They can bolster the grid, help to meet energy demand, power vehicles and data centers, and more. With demand for batteries projected to skyrocket in the coming years, the growing market presents a tremendous opportunity for the burgeoning U.S. battery industry. With supportive policies, the industry can scale the technology and production necessary to meet domestic and global demand.

However, the domestic battery supply chain faces challenges to securing finance, developing infrastructure, preparing the workforce, and procuring critical materials. Policy support at all levels of government is necessary to charge up the industry to compete on the global stage.

Please join the C2ES Regional Economies Initiative for a webinar exploring why developing a secure, resilient, domestic battery supply chain is a boon for local economies. The event will include a panel conversation with industry leaders and experts, as well as a discussion on our recently released Southeast Regional Policy Roadmap, developed in collaboration with more than 250 stakeholders across the Southeast United States.
