Renewable Thermal Collaborative, C2ES Considered ‘Players to Watch’

The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) and the Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) – a joint effort of C2ES, David Gardiner and Associates, and the World Wildlife Fund – were named as Organizations to Watch in GreenBiz Group’s 2019 “State of Green Business” report.

The recognition of the roles of both C2ES and RTC reflect the challenges the world faces in protecting our communities and infrastructure from the impacts of climate change. The Renewable Thermal Collaborative was formed by the three organizations to showcase how energy users can switch from fossil fuels to renewable thermal energy.

“It’s wonderful to see the Renewable Thermal Collaborative’s work getting the recognition it deserves,” said C2ES President Bob Perciasepe. “In today’s energy landscape, we need solutions that not only efficiently produce energy, but make smart use of it throughout the life cycle. The goal of the RTC is to help businesses innovate to meet their heating and cooling needs in a way that both reduces emissions and helps their own bottom line.”

Just last week C2ES was recognized for the eighth consecutive year as one of the world’s top environmental think tanks in the University of Pennsylvania’s 2018 Global Go To Think Tank Index.

Each year, the report looks at 10 key trends and dozens of metrics assessing how, and how much, companies are moving the needle on the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The report is produced in partnership with Trucost, part of S&P Global, a world leader in helping companies, investors, governments, academics and thought leaders understand the economic consequences of natural capital dependency.
