Carrying on with climate solutions: A message from Bob Perciasepe on COVID-19

The following message from C2ES President Bob Perciasepe was sent to the C2ES community March 23, 2020:

To our C2ES Community,

I’m sure you’ve already received no shortage of notes about COVID-19 in the last week or so, as we all try to stay as connected as we can. In that spirit, I’d like to provide you with a quick update from C2ES as we manage through travel and workplace constraints to protect our staff and the community and to carry on our important work.

We all face challenging situations for our families, our work continuity and the causes we care so deeply about. I want you to know that C2ES continues to work fulltime to fulfill the vital mission that has inspired your support for us. We are working every day with policymakers, businesses and other stakeholders to help meet our critical climate and energy challenges.

Families and the health of our community are paramount. For that reason, our entire staff is teleworking through this period to minimize the potential for spread of infection. We are relying more than ever on remote conferencing and personal video chats (and haven’t forgotten about the telephone either).

We convened our Board of Directors virtually last week and will be holding a public webinar this week with a great lineup of experts addressing the potential of electrified trucking. Expect to see an expansion of our virtual convenings and critical climate dialogues in the weeks to come, even as we continue our important research, publications and outreach.

We are committed to keeping you up to date on the latest progress on climate policy and technology solutions, and we’re eager for your feedback on how you see this new crisis affecting the landscape. Even now, as the country prepares for recovery from the pandemic, there may be opportunities to advance energy and climate solutions.

Please be sure to stay connected with us through C2ES.org as well as our newsletter, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. Most of all, please contribute to overall community health by following all the best practices to reduce the spread of infection.

While our spirits remain high and our work proceeds, we know things will continue to change, and are planning for additional challenges as the situation evolves. We are grateful as always to our many supporters who make our work possible, even in these challenging times.

With every best wish,

Bob Perciasepe
