Bob Perciasepe on the confirmation of Michael Regan

Statement of Bob Perciasepe
President, Center for Climate and Energy Solutions

March 10, 2021

On the confirmation of Michael Regan as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

“I’ve known Michael Regan for more than 20 years. Having worked with him directly at the EPA and more recently in his role as North Carolina’s Secretary of Environmental Quality, I know him to be committed to the work and ready to lead on day one.

“In the role he’s taking on leading the EPA, he’ll be challenged by the tasks of overcoming four years of neglect and of repositioning the EPA – an institution I love deeply – as a leader and advocate for ambitious greenhouse gas reductions and prudent environmental stewardship. From reassessing vehicle standards to addressing power plant emissions and more, his tenure at EPA will be marked by how high the United States sets the bar in facing the climate challenge through its own example. I’ll be proud to support him, as will C2ES, in that great responsibility.”
