On the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

Today’s signing of this landmark legislation will power the U.S. economy with clean energy, creating new economic opportunities and reducing energy costs for consumers while moving the United States closer to meeting our climate goals.

So many in the climate community have worked tirelessly for more than a decade for this day, but this is just the beginning.

Now we must ensure that these unprecedented investments in climate and clean energy solutions pay off with the emissions cuts – and technological innovation – needed to reach our climate goals. And we must build on today’s achievement by continuing to press for the additional policies and investments needed to accelerate the transition to a thriving, just, and resilient net-zero economy.

We can’t wait to get started.
