On the Biden administration plans to accelerate federal permitting:

“Today’s announcement of a federal action plan to accelerate permitting and environmental reviews is an important and welcome step that will help clear the path to a thriving, inclusive net-zero emissions economy by 2050. To meet that goal and seize the economic opportunity it offers, we will need to build an unprecedented amount of infrastructure at an extraordinary pace: high-capacity transmission lines to support expanded renewable capacity, transportation and storage infrastructure for hydrogen and captured carbon, broader access to EV charging, and a host of other clean energy priorities. Doing that the right way not only requires faster, more efficient and transparent permitting processes but also demands earlier engagement with affected communities and attention to averting and minimizing environmental impacts. We look forward to seeing the fruits of today’s action plan, and to working with the administration to lay the foundation for the low-carbon future.”
