The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) is pleased to welcome Lisa Guerra to the Board of Directors, bringing her unique blend of technological expertise, philanthropic leadership, and deep commitment to climate solutions.
Guerra currently serves as president of her family’s foundation, where she leads philanthropic and impact investing initiatives focused on addressing climate change, protecting the environment, advancing education, and expanding economic opportunity. She also serves on the boards of the UC Berkeley Foundation, Village Enterprise, and the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), where she supports the advancement of climate resilience and climate solutions.
“I am delighted that Lisa is joining the C2ES board. Lisa brings both a deep passion for our mission and a breadth of global experience as a successful entrepreneur and engineer that will add tremendous value to the C2ES board and the organization,” said C2ES Board Chair Ann Klee. “We are fortunate to benefit from her technical expertise and perspective in our support of C2ES in its mission to advance practical and innovative solutions to address climate change.”
Prior to her current work, Guerra co-founded and held executive technical roles at several software startups specializing in speech recognition and fraud detection. She holds eleven U.S. patents and earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
“Lisa’s extensive experience in the private sector and on nonprofit boards will be a huge asset to C2ES as we continue to grow our impact,” said C2ES President Nat Keohane. “I feel tremendously fortunate that C2ES will now benefit from her intellect, expertise and dedication. I could not be more pleased that she is joining the C2ES board.”
C2ES, founded in 1998 as the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, works to secure a safe and stable climate by accelerating the global transition to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and a thriving, just, and resilient economy. Underpinning every aspect of C2ES’s work is its belief in equitable climate solutions — ensuring that the benefits of the transition to a net-zero economy are widely shared and that vulnerable communities are protected from climate impacts.
