RE: Omnibus Negotiations
Dear Leader McConnell and Leader Schumer, Speaker Pelosi and Leader McCarthy
As you continue to negotiate year-end omnibus legislation I write to express strong support for including key provisions of S. 2657, the American Energy Innovation Act of 2020, and H.R.4447 – the Clean Economy Jobs and Innovation Act, into this legislation.
C2ES recently organized a statement from 42 of leading U.S. companies in support of ambitious, durable, and bipartisan climate policies such as those included in these bills. Sound energy policy is essential to ensure a strong, sustainable economy and importantly, these bills include crucial elements of an innovation agenda that can successfully support U.S. leadership in the emerging low-carbon global economy – more important now than ever.
The admirable efforts of both Senate and House committees in developing and advancing this bipartisan framework create an important foundation for durable climate and energy policy. It is also a promising first step toward providing the business community with the certainty it needs to successfully navigate the global energy transition.
Respectfully,

Bob Perciasepe
