Statement of Bob Perciasepe
President, Center for Climate and Energy Solutions
June 19, 2019
On the EPA rule replacing the Clean Power Plan:
“The federal government should focus on paving the way to the power industry of 2050, not resuscitating the technology of 1950. The transition to a decarbonized power sector is well under way, led by forward-thinking utilities and fueled by their consumers’ demand and business needs for clean energy alternatives. The Affordable Clean Energy rule is out of step with market forces, and its legal vulnerability only creates more uncertainty for an industry focused on delivering what its consumers want.”
