On the confirmation of Brenda Mallory as Chair of the Council of Environmental Quality (CEQ):

“Brenda Mallory has a long and accomplished career as an environmental lawyer, protecting community health and advocating for environmental conservation. She’s also a close friend and sat on the C2ES Board of Directors for two years prior to her confirmation today.

“I can’t think of a more appropriate person to restore NEPA, elevate the voice of frontline communities, and facilitate investments in key infrastructure. These investments will create a foundation for a low-carbon economy while ensuring communities are climate-resilient. As Chair of CEQ, Brenda will join the Biden administration’s impressive climate team focused on revitalizing U.S. efforts to combat climate change here at home, create jobs and support economic growth. We look forward to her leadership helping to set an example for global partners, enabling ambitious climate policy and fostering cooperation with private sector partners.”
