No (supply) chain, no gain: How offshore wind can boost local economies

The U.S. offshore wind industry is taking off, with more than 40 GW in the pipeline for development by 2040. Investments in offshore wind can not only help the United States meet its climate goals, they are also spurring local economies to support the nascent industry. Across the nation, local communities stand to gain tremendous economic benefits from investments in infrastructure, local workforce, and manufacturing capacity. But to ensure the planned projects are built out on pace and at scale, the United States must invest in a domestic offshore wind supply chain and workforce.

Building on insights from two recent roundtables C2ES hosted in Virginia and Louisiana, this webinar will explore the opportunities the domestic offshore wind industry brings to American communities and the steps we need to take to make sure we are ready to realize them.
