Moving forward with international carbon markets post-Madrid

For the second year in a row, negotiators failed at last month’s COP 25 in Madrid to establish carbon market accounting rules under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Parties will try again at COP 26, but are free under Paris to move forward with international emissions trading with our without final agreement on the Article 6 rules. In this webinar, experts and key negotiators will explore the implications of the impasse on Article 6 rules and how smaller groups of countries may proceed on their own to ensure environmental integrity in their carbon market accounting pending further international discussion.
