Kinetic Coalition is an independent, non-profit initiative. It is coordinated by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), which serves as its Secretariat.
Kinetic Coalition is a new approach for driving and accelerating corporate investment in clean energy systems in emerging economies, delivering reliable, affordable clean energy, and bringing economic, health, and environmental benefits to local communities.
As Secretariat, C2ES supports the Coalition’s strategy, operations, and collaboration, as part of its broader work to advance practical climate solutions.
Kinetic Coalition is actively exploring pilots in emerging economies to establish proof of concept, with current pilots in the Philippines, the Dominican Republic, and Uzbekistan. Kinetic’s work is tailored to each country or asset owner’s needs and can include actions such as early coal plant retirement, accelerated renewables deployment, grid and storage improvements, and/or the development and implementation of enabling policies. Our goal is to help countries and asset owners achieve their clean energy and climate goals unique to their economy and power sector. These pilots are at an early stage and are helping to shape the initiative.
