Maryland: Climate Change is Here and Now

Today we are already experiencing the types of impacts, which are expected to become more intense and occur more frequently as a result of climate change. In the past two years, Maryland has experienced floods, excessive heat and drought leading to property and crop damage as well as the loss of human life. The costs from these recent weather-related events and the scientific assessments remind us of the urgent need to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the future impact of climate change
